Here is a little return on the indoor season / Petit retour sur la saison indoor

The indoor season is now over. It has been an exceptional tour for me, especialy the last ones with Toulouse, Geneve, Nice and Chalon.

I have finished this period so tired, especialy my wrist and my knee asking me to stop for a while. This is what I have done for few days.

Now let think to the coming outdoor season, it should be awesome too. I already have ridden in Orleans last week end for a regional comp, it was ok with a full clean trials and no penalty.

Next step : The K124 Days !

Click meLa saison indoor est maintenant achevée. Ca a été une tournée extra pour moi, et en particulier les derniers qui se sont enchainés tres vite avec Toulouse, Geneve, Nice et Chalon.

J'ai terminé cette periode en vrac complet, poignet et genou en miettes...

Apres un peu de repos il est maintenant temps de penser à la saison outdoor qui va attaquer tres vite, j'ai deja pu rouler à Orleans le week end dernier pour une compet' regioanle. Tout s'est bien passé avec une journée à zero.

La prochaine étape maintenant : les K124 Days !

Indoor of Toulouse

Last friday I rode the trial indoor of Toulouse, definitly the best of the year !

This year the theme was the games, so we rode a domino section, a lego section, a mikado section, a diamond section and a card castel section.

As usual it was awesome, massive crowd, top sections... The only regret is that Marco Caisso and I didn't had enough time to ride, we want to ride more there !!!

Thanks a lot Bernard. Next one in Geneve for a world championship round !

Vendredi dernier j'ai roulé en demo a l'indoor moto de Toulouse, comme toujours le meilleur de l'année !

Cette année le theme etait le jeu, du coup on a attaqué des zones de dominos, un mikado geant, les plus gros lego que j'ai de ma vie (plus de 5 metres), des diamants et un chateau de carte.

Comme chaque année c'etait le top, zones enormes, public de dingue... Le seul regret pour Marc C et moi est que nous n'avons pas roulé autant qu'on l'aurait voulu, c'est carrement frustrant deux petits passages sur de telles zones!!!

Merci à Bernard. Prochain indoor a Geneve pour une manche du championnat du Monde !

Check out this article on tribalzine, this is a report from the training we made there three weeks ago. Except my wrist which stayed there on a log, it was a perfect afternoon. Cerny's club helps me a lot letting me riding there so often, thanks a lot Fab' !
To conclude about the injury chapter I spent a complicate last month because of my wrist, I have made many exams, and I am know clear with it, it was just a big twist. Thanks to the infiltration I made I am now fully ok, finally !

Chechez l'article de Tribalzine, c'est un report de l'entrainement qu'on a fait à Cerny il y a trois semaine. A part mon poignet qui est resté sur un tronc c'etait un super aprem'. Le club de Cerny me file un bon coup de main en me laissant rouler super souvent là bas, merci Fab' !
Pour conclure sur le chapitre blessure, j'ai été pas mal embetté ce dernier mois a cause de mon poignet, apres une tonne d'exam je suis rassuré, rien de cassé. Grace aux infiltrations que j'ai fait je suis desormais 100% opé, enfin !

Saint Gaudens' indoor, first riding with the new Koxx Sky!

Wednesday we get the new Sky at the factory. I built it and tested it for few minutes. It look pretty good. The day after I tested it in several configurations, at 7.00 I felt I get the right set up. Time to pack up the car !
Friday I drove all day long to Saint Gaudens for an indoor organised by Bernard Estripeau. Rode there Marc Caisso, Max Tollut, Jordi Vedere and I in bike and Paul Tarres, Romain Tessariol, Alex Ferrer and Tony Bou in moto. The first evening was really cool, I directly felt well on the bike and didn't feel that restricted by the difference of the bike.
Saturday afternoon we trained there, and from that moment I felt sure that the new bike was much better than the old one. Nothing is deeply different but the geo's modication and the adjustment make a quite big difference !
Saturday evening was better again, the public was massiver and we all rode better ! That was really a perfect evening, except Jordi's injury (good recovering mate !)
Sunday morning was time to drive back under the snow to join the church Christmas day... So good last days, almost too much but so good !

Mercredi nous avons reçu les nouveaux modeles des Koxx Sky. J'ai pu le tester 15 minutes le soir. Ca semblait deja pas mal. Le lendemain j'ai passé la journée a rechercher les bons reglages, peaufiner le montage, faire quelques photos, etc... Vers 19 heures je tenais le bon montage, pret pour charger la voiture !
Vendredi direction Saint Gaudens pour un indoor organisé par Bernard Estripeau. Roulaient Marc Caisso, Jordi Vedere, Max Tollut et moi en velo, Alex Ferrer, Paul Tarres, Romain Tessariol et Tony Bou en moto.
La premiere soiree s'est super bien passée, je n'ai pas ete trop géné par les differences sur le vélo et je me suis plutot bien laché !
Le lendemain aprem' nous nous sommes entrainés, et là c'est devenu clair, le nouveau modele est vraiment supérieur à l'ancien ! Il n'y a pas de revolution sur ce modele mais les modifs de géo et les ajustements réalisés sur le cadre le rendent vraiment supérieur !
La deuxieme soirée etait encore mieux que la premiere, le public était plus nombreux et nous avons tous mieux roulé ! C'était vraiment une superbe edition, tout était parfait hormis la blessure de Jordi (bon retablissement mec !)
Dimanche matin il etait temps de rentrer sous la neige pour aller au Noel de l'église. Un pur week end en somme, presque trop chargé mais un pur week end !

K124 moves to Chartreuse

K-124 s’expatrie en Chartreuse!

Nous sommes très fiers de vous annoncer notre prochain déménagement depuis la région parisienne vers Saint Pierre de Chartreuse (Isère) dès le premier trimestre 2011.

Les avantages en terme de qualité de vie pour notre équipe sont multiples, mais c’est ce qui justifie notre sourire, le votre viendra avec les annonces ci-dessous nous l’espérons !

L’entreprise fondée en 2000 a logiquement vu son implantation là où son créateur était basé. Depuis lors la marque a bien voyagé, sans pour autant quitter ses terres. Cependant nous sommes aujourd’hui à un tournant majeur de son évolution. En effet la société, non contente de son statut de créateur et de fabricant de produits, souhaite aller plus loin dans la relation qui la lie à ses clients. Ainsi la prochaine étape est la création d'un espace dédié à la pratique des disciplines dans lesquelles elle est présente. Cela se traduira par l'avènement du K124 Land.

Le mot est lâché, K124 Land ! En effet ; plus que le déplacement du siège social de l’entreprise, de son service administratif ou encore de son bureau d’études ; c’est bien dans l’avènement de cette nouvelle structure que réside l’enjeu de ce challenge. Nous jugeons notre savoir-faire technique abouti, nous avons également diversifié nos domaines de compétences pour être positionné dans des créneaux qui nous passionnent (le trial, le VTT, le bmx, le monocycle ou encore le micro-scooter). Nos champions nous ont de plus comblés de récompenses mondiales.

Mais cela ne peut être une fin en soi, aussi nous souhaitons être plus proches du terrain, ressentir au quotidien l’esprit qui anime les K124 riders.

Aussi nous avons décidé d’inscrire notre espace de travail au cœur même d’un lieu de pratique de toutes nos disciplines. Ainsi nous pourrons nous targuer de disposer d’un laboratoire de développement grandeur nature, mais bien plus que cela nous allons pouvoir vous mettre à contribution ! Nous espérons faire de la communication avec nos clients le nouveau cap de l’entreprise, et que cela se traduise par un échange d’informations constant entre notre bureau d’études, le riding de nos teams et ce par quoi cela se traduit pour vous au quotidien dans votre pratique.

Nous allons donc mettre à disposition de tous et au cœur d’un même site une piste de bmx supercross (standard olympique), le plus grand trial park du monde, un champ de boss, un slope style, un north shore (tout cela courant 2011) et le plus grand skate park indoor d’Europe (la création de ce dernier interviendra dans un deuxième temps). Nous voyons cet espace comme un lieu de pratique libre, mais aussi un outil pour mettre en œuvre des stages, des compétitions et autres évènements d’ampleur internationale ; le tout pourvu des infrastructures nécessaires à tout cela.

L’ensemble de ce complexe, ainsi que la société proprement dite, vont donc prendre place à Saint Pierre de Chartreuse. La prospection d’un site pouvant répondre a notre cahier des charges (conséquent !) a démarré il y a maintenant de nombreux mois. Et notre choix s’est arrêté en faveur de cette commune grâce au respect point par point de nos requêtes :

- la ville et la communauté de commune dans laquelle elle s’inscrit, foncièrement motivée par notre programme et investies dès à présent
- le cadre de la Chartreuse et son parc naturel aux ressources infinies, tant pour les évolutions que nous souhaitons mettre en œuvre que pour les activités complémentaires qui y sont proposées.
- Le cadre géographique large idéal, la région Rhône Alpes étant très bien située au plein national mais aussi européen, pour accueillir un public venu d’horizons multiples.

Vous l’avez compris, il en est fini de notre cadre de travail francilien assez déprimant, et nous espérons que nous ne sommes pas les seuls à nous réjouir de cette nouvelle !

K-124 moves to Chartreuse!

We are very proud to announce that we will soon be moving from the Parisian region to Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse (Isère) in the first quarter of 2011.

The advantages in terms of quality of life for our team are numerous, which is why we’re so happy about the move. We hope you’ll be smiling too after reading the announcements below!

It seemed logical in 2000, when the company was formed, to set it up in the same region that its creator was based. Since then the brand has travelled all over the world, but has never left its home in Coulommiers. However, we are now at a significant turning point in the company’s evolution. Not content with being simply a creator and manufacturer of products, K-124 want to take the relationship that links them with their clients even further. The next step in this process is the creation of a space dedicated to the disciplines in which the company is involved: K-124 Land!

The word is out, K124 Land is coming! Indeed, more than moving the company headquarters, its administrative or research departments, it is the in creation of this new structure that the challenge lies. We believe our technical expertise to be at its pinnacle, we have diversified our areas of expertise so that we are now involved in the niches that we are passionate about (trials, mountain biking, BMX, unicycle and micro-scooter) and our champions have once again come home with some of the top global awards in our disciplines.
But this can not be an end in itself. We want to be closer to the ground, to witness on a daily basis the spirit that drives the K-124 riders.

So we have decided to place our workspace at the heart of a massive centre for the practice of all of our disciplines. This would mean that not only would we be able to boast of a development laboratory of epic proportions, but that we would be able to offer you our customers so much more! We hope to be able to communicate with our customers on the new direction of the company, and this is reflected by a constant exchange of information between our research department, our teams of riders and you our customers, who use our products on a daily basis.

We will be creating, for the use of all and sundry and all on one site, a bmx supercross track (Olympic standard), the biggest trials park in the world, dirt jumps, a slope style course, a north shore track (all in 2011) and the largest indoor skate park in Europe (which will come at later date). We see this space as a place of free practice, but also a tool to implement training courses, competitions and other events on an international scale, and our infrastructure will provide for all this.

This entire complex, and the company itself, will therefore be situated in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse. Prospecting for a site that can meet our specifications began many months ago and stopped when we got to this area, which meets every single one of our requirements:

- The town and the community are motivated by our programme and are ready to invest immediately.
- La Chartreuse’s nature park, with infinite resources, is well-suited to the developments that we want to implement as well as for the additional activities that are proposed.
- The geographical setting is ideal; the Rhône-Alpes region is very well located, being fairly central in Europe, and can therefore accommodate people wherever they are coming from.

That’s right, our depressing Parisian headquarters is no more, and we hope that we won’t be the only ones to be pleased about this!

Buthiers regional comp

Yesterday we rode a "snowy" regional competition in Buthiers. It was a cool day as usaul in this kind of competiton. The organisation made a great job to make the sections "ridable" leaving the snow. It was ok to be ridden, and it just strated to snow again before my last section, I have been quite lucky ! I spent the comp with Nico Vuillermot (bad day for him) and Morgan Vassor who really impressed me, he took quite easily the second place, good job from my Padawan ! Kewin took the 3rd, Nico the 4th.

Hier nous avons roulé à Buthiers, compet' regionale sous la neige ! C'était une bonne journée a la cool, comme toujours dans ce genre de compet'. L'organisation a fait un super boulot pour rendre les zones praticables en enlevant la neige des rochers. C'était vraiment roulable, et il s'est juste remis a neiger avant ma derniere zone, j'ai été chanceux sur ce coup là ! J'ai passé la journée avec Nico Vuillermot (journée a oublier pour lui) et Morgan Vassor, super perf' de mon jeune Padawan qui a pris la deuxieme place assez facilement devant Kewin et Nico.

Indoor motor show - Liévin

Last Saturday I was in Lievin (north of France) for a demo in a motor show. There was FMX (Tom Pagès killed me...), moto trials (Gubian still progress, good for frenchies !), stunt quad, pit bike show and, as you can imagine, trials.
This was a really cool evening, I guess that people enjoy all those ways to ride !
Next indoor in Saint Gaudens, 100% trials, and 4 riders in bike !

Samedi dernier j'étais à Lievin (pres de Lille) pour l'indoor motor show. Il y avait du FMX (Tom Pagès a été monstrueux...), de la moto trial (Gubian progresse vraiment, bon pour François le français et ses compatriotes !), du stunt quad, un show de pit bike et, comme vous pouvez vous en douter, du VTT trial avec votre serviteur au guidon.
C'était vraiment top, je crois que les gens ont adoré voir toutes ces formes de riding !
Prochain indoor a Saint Gaudens, 100% trial, et 4 riders en vélo !

Mezieres

Yesterday took place the first round of the Ufolep regional championship in Mezieres near Orleans.
We were 70 under a beautiful sun. The sections were nice, I guess that we all enjoy riding there.
I ride quite well and didn't put any foot. Kevin Aglae took the second place, Tom Francisco the third and Morgan Vassor the 4th. Yes 4 Koxx at the 4 first place !
In the category just below the Koxx riders finished 1st and 3rd too with M Strim and P Beauval.
After the race we trained a bit, big up to Morgan Vassor who get a big double hook that he already passed during the comp, the only one with me to get this obstacle ! Youth in progress !

Hier se deroulait la premiere manche du championnat regional Ufolep à Mezieres pres d'Orleans.
Nous etions 70 au depart sous un super soleil. Les zones etaient bien sympas, je pense qu'on s'est tous bien fait plaisir là bas. J'ai plutot bien roulé et n'ai pas posé un seul pieds de la journée. Kevin Aglae finit 2nd, Tom Francisco 3 et Morgan Vassor 4. Oui oui, 4 Koxx aux 4 premieres places !
Dans la caté juste en dessous les koxx riders ont également brillé avec la victoire et la troisieme place avec M Strim et P Beauval.
Apres la compet on s'est un peu entrainé, bravo a Moragn qui a pris de nouveau un gros 2 coups, qu'il était deja parvenu a prendre durant la compet', le seul avec moi à l'avoir passé, youth in progress !

Bon je m'etais dit que j'allais ecrire un pur article pour annoncer que nous quittions le sud pour remonter a Coulommiers mais c'est trop tard, Franck m'a piqué toutes mes idees. Alors mieux un lien vers le blog k124 performance !

I wanted to make a cool article about the fact that we will leave the south of France tomorrow to go back to Coulommiers; but it is too late, Franck stoll all the ideas I had for his own article, so just visit the k124 performance blog !

Last sunday I went back to my dear bike, one week after my 'did not finished' at the worlds.

I almost blamed myself to recover that fast. I felt so so but enough to ride.

First surprise and fist challenge 5 minutes after I turned off the car "you are 15mn late, 5 penalty points !". Thanks for welcoming...

The sections looked pretty hard, probably because I didn't ride for one week. The first lap was ok, even if I put a so stupid feet. That's ok that was the only one of the day !

That was a really cool sunny day, a sympathic little victory, and the best way to turn the Worlds page !

Thanks to the local crew for the job made there.

Dimanche dernier j'étais de retour sur le vélo, une semaine apres mon abandon au mondial, je culpabilisais presque d'avoir recupéré si vite... Je me sentais bof bof mais en mesure de rouler.

Premiere surprise et premier challenge du jour 5 minutes apres m'etre garé : "Tu es en retard d'un quart d'heure, 5 points de penalité!". Merci pour l'acceuil...

Les zones étaient bien old school, me semblaient assez dures (surement parce que je n'avais pas roulé depuis une semaine). J'ai roulé bien tendu au premier tour, pas envie de me refaire mal, ça a tout de meme été malgré un pied vraiment stupide, le seul de la journée alors ca va...

C'était une super journée ensoleillée, une bonne petite victoire et surtout le meilleur moyen de tourner la page des mondiaux !

Un grand merci aux locaux pour le job d'organisation.

World Championship

Yes, definitly, that was the main goal of the season, the only reason for I trained so hard during one year. What happened there ? Did I win like a beautiful successtory? Did I crash like a tragedy? Nothing of that.

I have been to Canada, prepared myself as good as I could there thanks to the top conditions the federation offered us, to our team. I have ridden the qualification with some good reasons to feel pretty confident for the final. I have waited the big day. I have made the first section, top begining. I have started the second section, missed a jump, fall back and twist my ankle... Nothing more to say about bike there. I have well tryed to go ahead but I couldn't pedal. 2 sections after I decided to stop the competition. First time of my carrer that I "DNF" a competition.

This is a shame, but this is nothing. There will have other big days to push myself to my limits.

Of course I have regrets, but this was the best bike trip I ever made, below what I want to keep in my mind about this event :

Et oui, enfin, le jour le plus important de l'année etait là, la seule raison pour laquelle je me suis entrainé pendant un an. Que s'est il passé? J'ai triomphé ? J'ai craqué? Rien de tout ça.

Je suis allé au Canada, me suis preparé au mieux là bas grace aux conditions ideales données par la fédé, grace au staff. J'ai fait les qualif avec de vraies raisons d'etre confiant pour la finale. J'ai attendu le grand jour sagement. J'ai fait ma prepare zone, la plus importante souvent, au top. Je suis allé à la deuxieme zone, ai raté un jump, suis retombé sur le dit jump et me suis tordu la cheville... Rien de plus a dire de tout cela niveau vélo, ça s'arrete là... J'ai bien essayé de continuer mais je ne pouvais pas pedaler. 2 zones plus tard je decidais d'arreter. Premier abandon de ma carriere.

C'est dommage, mais ce n'est pas si grave. Il y aura d'autres jours "J" où me surpasser.

Bien sur que je nourris des regrets, mais c'était le meilleur bike trip que je n'ai jamais fait, voilà ce que je veux garder en tete :

Urban Trial in Cahors

This week end took place the Urban Trial in Cahors.
One of the most beautiful event in the moto trials scene.
For this year the organisation there made me a really nice gift ! They asked me to invite some top riders to make a competiton the Saturday night. The sections was really nice, we also tested a new system called open free (you have to pass gates to get points). This was really cool to see every one rides the obstacles he wanted without passing the evening to see riders put dabs to grab the bikes to the top of the obstacles. Benito won, I took the second place, Abel the third and Kenny the fourth. Good thing for me to finish first 26'' rider for the last competiton before the Worlds.
Thanks a lot, really, to Didier Valade, Bernard Estripeau, the riders there (Kenny, Benito, Abel, Ion, Marc Caisso, Andrei, Aurel, Sylvain ), the moto riders who enjoyed our performance and of course all the public.

The Sunday I made some shows in the moto sections and before the awards.

That was a week end !

Check out the helmet that Franck customised me. I now ride with Cantonna, Rossi, Tyler Durder and Ali close to my brain, could be helpfull for the vibes !!!

Alps trip

The day after the world cup I have ridden in the world cup sections. It was cool to check out what I did while the competition by riding into those sections one day after. I was really surprised that I was able to clean all the difficulties that I saw as almost impossible during the competition. This sport is crazy, so much difference between how you see the rocks bigger when tapes arround them !
Then we have driven to Peisey Vallandry for the master organised there. As every year it was a really cool event, I really enjoy riding there even if I was so tired... and my riding so so...

La finale de la coupe du Monde s'est deroulée une semaine apres la manche belge, à Saint François Longchamp. Derniere compet' à domicile donc !

Comme pour les manches d'Italie et de Belgique le public etait vraiment nombreux, bon pour le trial tout ça!

L'organisation était top et les zones vraiment belles. Niveau difficulté c'est clairement la compet' la plus enorme que nous ayons eu a affronter !

J'ai fait un premier tour assez moyen, pas trop mal niveau technique mais clairement trop timoré. Le second tour etait plus percutant (du moins je le croyais, apres avoir roulé sur les zones le lendemain de l'epreuve et passé toutes les difficultés je me suis rendu compte que j'aurais vraiment pu faire mieux...) Tout cela m'a permis de devancer Kenny, le troisieme, de pas mal de points, mais comme en Belgique, Gilles Coustellier a vraiment été au dessus et l'emporte une nouvelle fois.

Pour ce qui est du général je termine donc second de la coupe du Monde cette année, premiere manche cauchemardesque en Espagne puis trois fois second, bien devant Kenny et bien derriere Gilles...

Ne reste plus maintenant que le championnat du Monde au Canada. Je vais me lacher au maximum là bas, histoire de sortir le lapin que je garde en reserve dans mon chapeau pour cette ultime compet' de la saison. Il faudra bien sur battre Kenny Belaey une nouvelle fois, lui qui est toujours present les grands jours, et puis se mesurer au leader de cette saison, Gilles Coustellier. Je n'aurais aucune pression, il est clair que les bookmakers ont misé sur lui tant il a survolé les epreuves. Mais il est clair qu'au matin des championnats du Monde nous repartons tous a zero, à moi de prouver que je suis celui qui veut gagner plus que les autres, c'est toujours cela qui fait la difference !

Pour nos anniversaires a Milca et moi meme nous sommes allés en Belgique, à Anvers.

Apres lui avoir acheté quelques diamant nous nous sommes rendu vers la Coupe du Monde.

La compet' etait située en plein centre ville, a bloc de public et des zones pas forcement jouissive visuellement mais selective et impressionante.

Bonne qualif niveau sensation, pas trop niveau resultat... Bref je m'elance avant les deux autres cadors en finale. Histoire de ma refaire un peu de mes contre performances à l'Europe et aux France j'ai pris le parti de faire une course serieuse sans prendre trop de risque. Les consignes de Franck etaient de ne tenter que ce qui était sur de passer. A ce petit jeu je ne m'en suis pas trop mal sorti et j'ai creusé un bon ecart sur Kenny. Dans le meme temps Gilles Coustellier survolait les debats et remportait une victoire incontestable.

Bravo à lui, pas trop mal pour moi de conforter ma 2eme place au général et de battre Kenny sur ces terres.

For Milca's and my Birthday we have been in Belgium, at Antwerp.

After buying her few diamonds we have been to the world cup.

The comp was made into the city center, huge crowd and sections not that pleasefull to ride but impressive and selective.

Good feelings during the qualification, too much points... So I started before the 2 big men. To forget my bad results at the Worlds and the France championship I decided to make a very serious competition without taking too much risk. Franck's advice was to test only what was sure to be done. It works quite well and I made a good gap to Kenny. At this time Gilles was riding so well and won really nicely.

Congratulations to him, not that bad to renforce my second place at the general ranking and to beat Kenny at home.

Ce week end nous etions au championnat de France à Val d'Isere. 2eme place a la clé.

C'était vraiment top, super coin, beaucoup de public et des zones canons (en finale nous avions 2 zones de rochers, une de troncs, une de beton, une de rochers au dessus de l'eau et une de cascade).

Je vais ecrire a peu pres le même article que depuis le debut de saison : J'ai carrement gaché ma finale avec mon debut de course, 3 echecs dans les 3 premieres zones avant que cela ne s'arrange avec 8 points sur les 9 dernieres zones.

Je suis vraiment deçu de ces debuts de courses et pour etre honnete je ne l'explique pas trop, mais ce n'est pas le moment pour ça de toute façon. Je dois juste m'appliquer a reduire l'ecart avec Gilles Coustellier (qui a brillament remporté cette course avec seulement 6 points contre 23 pour moi) et nous fearons les comptes en fin de saison. Chaque minute passée me rapproche du moment où tout cela va tourner, j'attends mon heure avec impatience et determination !

We rode this week end our national championship in Val d'Isere.

The place was awesome with a massive crowd and really nice sections (in final we had 2 sections of rocks, one of logs, one with concretes, one with rocks over the river and one in a waterfalls).

I am gonna write the same article than since the beginning of the season : I started my final so badly (3 first sections with 3 crashes) and then it get better with 8 points in the last 9 sections.

Guigui Dunand took the 3rd place, Aurel Fontenoy ended 4th and my mate Nico Vuillermot the 5th (that is cool dude!!!)

I am really disappointed of the way I ride those moments, I can't really explain it but it is not the time for that, let's train harder again untill the worlds, reduce the gap to Gilles Coustellier as much as possible (he rode the final really well with only 6 points to 23 for me) and then we will make the counts ! Anyway every minute passed makes me clother to the day it will turn, I still ready for my time !

European championship / Championnat d'Europe

Le week end dernier s'est deroulé le championnat d'Europe à Melsungen, en Allemagne.

Au coeur de la foret (mais avec du public !), les zones etaient vraiment super, j'ai eu immediatement envie d'y rouler ! On retrouvait un pannel complet de toutes les difficultés, bref un super trial.

Last week end we rode the european championship in Melsungen, Germany.

Into the forest (but with a nice crowd!), the sections were really nice, I did want to ride them as soon as I saw them ! All kind of technics were represented, a really nice trials.

Les qualifs ont super bien commencées avec un tour a zero. Ensuite je me suis clairement relaché et fais un deuxieme tour tres moyen. Mais à l'issue de cette journee rien n'avait veritablement commencé.

La finale a par contre été un veritable chemin de croix pour reprendre l'expression de Franck, en demarrant avec deux echecs (un passage que je n'ai pas su assurer et un echec, cette fois ci en assurant...) je me suis oté toute chance de pouvoir l'emporter.

Je termine a la 3eme place, loin de la superbe bataille que se sont livrés Kenny et Gilles Coustellier (c'est ce dernier qui l'a finalement emporté)

Je suis vraiment déçu car j'étais dans un super etat de forme, la technique en place... Il faut vraiment que je mette tout cela en ordre, avec Franck nous avons selon nous perçu la façon dont nous allons evoluer, en esperant que cela porte ses fruits; j'en reste persuadé !

The qualification started perfectly with a first lap at zero, then I clearly release the pressure with a much less good second lap. But it wasn't a big deal, nothing had really begun.

The finale was really a nightmare , I started with two 5, one because I didn't see how to put a foot, the second one because I put the rear axle out of the tape while I pull up the bike with a foot... I clearly killed any chance to win then, I finished 3rd far away from the battle between Kenny and Gilles Coustellier (he finally won)

I am really disapointed because I was really well prepared, technicaly and physicaly... I definitly have to put it in order , with Franck we felt we know how to make it better, let's hope that it will work, I still confident for that !

World cup round 2, Italia

Last saturday we rode the 2nd round of the world cup in a really nice place. The comp took place in the city center of Biella. The sections was made with logs, pipes, rocks and caterpillar (!). We rode the finals by night with a massive crowd, big up to the organisation !

I started one more time my final really badly (http://www.tribalzine.com/ call me "the (turbo) diesel"), After 4 sections I had already 12 points (for a total of 21), then all get much better and I finaly found back my level on the end of the competition.

I finished 4 points behind Gilles Coustellier, the leader. Kenny took the 3rd place after a to be forgotten competition for him.

This week end I will be in Germany for the Euro champ, it is gonna be awesome in the trials park of Melsungen face to Gilles as a very strong favorite and Kenny always there for the big days and all the ousiders. Giaco won't probably ride there because of his knee damaged after a huge crash during the qualification in Italia. Have a good rest dude !

Ce week end je serai en Allemagne pour le championnat d'Europe, ca s'annonce top dans le trials park de Melsungen opposé à Gilles dans la peau du leader indéboulonnable et Kenny toujours present lors des grands rendez-vous. Giaco risque de ne pas etre la, blessé au genou suite a une grosse chutte lors des qualif en Italie. Bon retablissment a toi !

Just before Cerny's french cup I met Alex Jumelin, A Bad Thing flatland pro rider. But our "team brothership" wasn't the point of that lunch time. I saw him as the Stereo Panda man. Last sunday we rode in Cerny for the first round of the french cup in Cerny, near Paris.
Most of the top riders was there with all frenchies plus Kenny Belaey. The sections made by Fabrice was really nice, hard with some massive rocks !
For me it started like in Spain 2 weeks before, I mean very bad. One more time my 1st lap was so bad, and then it get better... I finished 3rd, behind Gilles and Giaco Coustellier, Kenny took the 4th.
I must definitly clear that beginning of competition problem, my level is ok, I ride with the right pressure after my bad starts so I have to solve it and it will get ok ! Let's do it in Italia for the next world cup, and furthermore the week after for the European Championship !

Dimanche s'est deroulée la premiere manche de coupe de France à Cerny, 91.
Pur plateau avec tous les tops français et Kenny Belaey. Les zones mitonnées par l'equipe de Fabrice etaient tops, bien dures avec des gros gros passages sur les nouveaux rochers du terrain. Pour moi même combat qu'en Espagne, c'est a dire un nouveau premier tour cata... Une fois de plus j'ai super mal debuté avant de mettre a rouler convenablement... J'ai fini 3, derriere Gilles et Giaco Coustellier, Kenny a pris la 4eme place.
Je dois vraiment regler ce probleme de debut de course, mon niveau est bon, une fois passé le debut de la compet je roule avec une bonne approche des zones, ne reste plus qu'a regler ces histoires de debut façon "bras cassé"... Rendez vous est pris pour la prochaine manche de coupe du monde en Italie, et surtout la semaine suivante pour le championnat d'Europe !

wolrd cup in Spain

The first round of the world cup took place in Ripoll, Catalunia. We rode into a permanent trials park. It is a really nice place for riders, we can just regret the lack of access for a massive public into this quite small city.

All started really well for me in qualification with a nice victory in qualification.

All get harder in the final. Because of a really really bad first lap (5th at that time...) I reduce to nothing my chance to get the victory. I made a much better 2nd lap to finish at the 3rd position, quite far from the 2 first who matched exactly. The victory coming to Gilles Coustellier behind Kenny Beleay for one more section finished at 1...

I will have to do much better in 3 weeks in Italia!

La premiere manche de la coupe du monde s'est deroulée à Ripoll, en Catalogne; dans un parc de trial permanent. C'est un super spot pour les riders, on peut juste regretter le manque de public present en raison de la taille limitée de la ville.

Tout a super bien debuté pour moi en qualif avec une belle victoire.

Tout est devenu plus compliqué en finale. En raison d'un premier tour catastrophique (j'étais alors 5eme...) j'ai reduit a zero mes chances de l'emporter. Mon 2eme tour a été bien meilleur et j'ai finalement terminé 3eme, assez loin des 2 premiers qui ont terminés a egalité. Au final Gilles Coustellier l'emporte devant Kenny Belaey au nombre de 1...

Il faudra faire beaucoup mieux dans 3 semaines en Italie!

Saint Nizier Report

Last week end I went with Franck in the awesome place of Saint Nizier, where took place the longest jump contest during the Olympics in Grenoble.

The competition was really interesting with half section in natural and the other half in artificial, so a very good preparation for the coming events.

I ride so so, the level was there but I made 2 bad track decisions in the firts lap = twice five points. Then I cleant those sections but I made 2 mistakes in my last 2 sections, for a total of 12.

I finaly duce A Fontenoy but won thanks to more sections done at zero. G Dunant took the 3rd place.

Le week end dernier avec Franck nous sommes allé à Saint Nizier, super coin où s'est deroulée l'epreuve de saut a ski aux Jeux de Grenoble.

La compet' etait vraiment sympa avec la moitié des zones en naturel et l'autre en artif', de quoi bien preparer les echeances a venir.

J'ai roulé moyennement, bon niveau mais deux mauvais choix de trajectoires dans le premier tour se sont soldés par 2 echecs. J'ai ensuite passé ces zones a zero mais j'ai de nouveau laché 2 points dans mes deux dernieres zones, pour conclure avec 12 points.

Meme total qu'Aurel Fontenoy mais la victoire tout de meme grace a un plus grand nombre de zero. Guigui Dunant prenait quant a lui la 3eme place.

The balance sheet of the pre-season is quite good. I won 4 regional competitions (Soual, Sury en Vaux, Fabregues and Saint Nizier), made also a very bad competiton in Roiffieux and ride quite well at the K124 days. Sounds good for the next step this week end :

Here is my "how to" about a good week-end / Voici ma reçette pour kiffer un week-end

1) Build up a race Sky : Carbone bar and fork, titanium axle and bolts, light tires. It should weight arround 7.4kg...

1) Se monter un Sky de compet' : guidon et fourche en carbone, axe et visserie titane, pneu light. Ca nous fait dans les 7.4kg...

2) Put all those stuff into the van

2) Jetter tout ça dans le camion

3) Drive to a nice little competition (last week-end I was at Marc Caisso's spot, here is the link to Franck's article, and tomorrow I will ride near Grenoble)

3) Filer vers une bonne petite compet regionale (le week-end dernier j'étais a Fabrègues chez Marc Caisso, l'article de Franck par ici, et demain je roulerai à Saint Nizier pour une manche Rhone Alpes)

Hier se déroulait la première manche du championnat Rhone Alpes.
Résumé en deux étapes, ce qui était prévu :
"Je vais aller me faire une compet' 6 jours apres les k124 days histoire de rester dans le bain, je risque de ne pas etre au top mentalement vu que je n'ai pas trop pris le temps de récupérer mais bon... Et puis on va se corser le truc, on va caler un entrainement bien physique la veille, dans la soirée, histoire d'arriver bien fatigué comme ça on bossera avec de la pré fatigue. Ca va etre bien se tirer la bourre avec Guillaume Dunant et Aurel Fontenoy dans ces conditions ! Bon entrainement en perspective. Besoin de personne, pas de suiveurs je m'en sortirai tres bien !"

Ce qui s'est passé ?
J'ai roulé comme un manche, j'étais motivé mais pas moyen d'etre dedans. Sur cette compet' tout en naturel dans la poussière il fallait etre super impliqué. Rien de gros, tout est passé a zero mais des erreurs a repetition...
Dans le meme temps Gilles Coustellier avait fait le deplacement et a été franchement bon en terminant à zero. Meme au top il aurait été dur de rivaliser avec sa régularité ce jour là.
Je pointais a la troisième place a la fin du deuxième tour mais parvenais tout de meme a repasser devant Guillaume en terminant le dernier tour (sur 2 zones seulement) à zero.
Coustellier l'emporte donc à zero, derriere je termine à 15 et Guillaume à 20.

C'est bon merci j'ai retenu la leçon...
Heureusement Valentino Rossi m'a vengé en remportant l'ouverture du championnat du Monde motogp, et puis il a fait super beau en Ardèche, beau coin ! Ya quand meme des journées pires que quand on est mauvais mais dans la nature a pratiquer le truc qu'on aime non ?
Merci aux organisateurs, et désolé sincerement d'avoir fait l'impasse sur la remise des prix mais madame m'attendait a la maison pour me frapper avec son rouleau a patisserie histoire de me remettre a ma place.

k124 days baammm !!!

Pour la première fois les k124 days (koxx days par le passé) ont quitté les rochers de Buthiers. Tout s'est déroulé dans un lieu bien connu des trialistes, La Tour de Scay. Certain ont été surpris par cette décision, mais je crois que le public et les riders présents n'ont pas regretté cette décision ! Comme on l'avait expliqué il semblait dur de faire evoluer la formule que nous proposions a Buthiers alors que désormais, et grâce a Alain Remy le boss local, les possibilités sont infinies.
Et pour la première fois étaient proposées un air bag de fou, 2 types de terrain de trial completement differents et une baron race (toutes les catégories de pilote VTT s'affrontent sur une même piste afin de savoir qui est le plus rapide, habile sur un VTT, peu importe sa pratique de base) !

For the first time the k124 days (previously koxx days) left Buthiers' rocks. They took place in a trials famous venue, La Tour de Scay. Some people was surprised by this decision, but I guess that the public and riders who lived the event didn't regret this option ! As we mentionned it before we had the feeling that we had done the best possible in Buthiers, whereas thanks to Alain Remy the new venue offers unlimited possibilities.
So for the first time we had a huge air bag, a 4X track, 2 complete different trials venues and a baron race track (all categories of MTB are put together into a unique track to define who's the best on a bike no matter his usual kind of riding) !

Comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo ci dessus la première manche de la course super elite s'est déroulée sur un terrain "old school", des rochers super pointus, ultra glissant... Pour corser le tout les zones étaient enormes et la meteo pas franchement clemente ! Je pointais en tete a la fin du premier tour mais de multiples (vraiment multiples !) erreures dans le second tour et la perf canon de Benito ont tout changé. A l'issue de cette manche Benito avait donc 8 points d'avance sur moi. Gilles Coustellier finissait avec le même total que moi. Le bilan ? En gros "Oula Benito nous a mis cher ! Par contre en roulant tres moyennement je fais jeu égal avec Coustellier et passe devant Kenny Belaey."

As you can see on the pic up there the fisrt round of the super elite competition was "old school", spike rocks, no grip at all... and a really bad weather mixed with huge sections.
At the end of the first round I was first but so (so!) many mistakes in the second lap plus a top perf of Benito change it all. Finaly Benito won that rounbd with 8 points of advantage on me. Gilles Coustellier finished with the same total than me. Feelings ? more or less "Well Benito killed us all ! But with a so so performance it is good to match Coustellier and to beat Kenny Belaey."

La deuxieme manche était pour moi beaucoup plus representative de notre niveau à tous, avec des zones enormes encore une fois mais dans un style proche de ce que l'on retrouve en coupe du Monde. C'était top et vraiment serré, pour preuve les 3 premiers du jour (Benito, Coustellier et moi) finissons avec le même total). J'ai fait plutot une bonne course, passé tout ce que mes adversaires ont réussi de leur coté, mais j'ai egalement commis de nombreuses erreures : Technique, avec des pieds litérallement sur le plat; stratégique, avec des pieds assurés là où je faisais zero ensuite, des passages pas toujours abordés pas toujours au plus simple et aussi un petit manque de réussite avec une crevaison dans une zone plutot facile.

L'ensemble de ces k124 days est donc tres positif pour moi.

Avec Franck nous n'en sommes qu'au debut de la prépa, dans le but de mettre en place certaines evolutions techniques nous avons occulté pour un temps la partie prepa physique. Du coup je suis encore loin de maitriser ma technique comme je le voudrais et je suis a l'arret physiquement... Dans ces conditions c'est plutot positif d'etre parvenu a faire jeu egal à deux reprises avec le champion du Monde, et a devancer le numero un mondial.

Avec quelques semaines de plus pour finaliser la partie technique et surtout retrouver une grosse grosse forme tout devrait bien se mettre en place. Je suis impatient d'en decoudre sur les coupes du Monde !

The assesment of those k124 days is quite positive for me.

With Franck we are just at the beginning of the preparation, to put in order some technicals skills we have stopped the physical aspect of the preparation. So I am quite far to master my technics and I am out of form... In those conditions it is good to match twice the world champ, and to beat the UCI wold number 1.

With few more weeks to adjust my technical skills and to be fit back all would go better. I can't wait for the beginning of the world cups !

Le lundi, attention les yeux, j'ai pu testé un proto de fourche carbone a moins de 450g ! Elle n'est pas encore au point et le test a du etre raccourci mais c'est vraiment encourageant, vivement les prochains protos revus !

The Monday big clash ! I have tested a prototype carbone fork under 450g ! This is not ok at the moment and we have had to short the test but this sound so good, I can't wait for the new propotype !

Really cool day, and good prepartion for the coming k124 days, I did put a little dab but then the 2 next laps was clean... After the comp' I "clashed" youngness to see what winter bring them : Big level! The season is gonna be awesome.

Bonne journéé et surtout bonne prépa pour les k124 days qui approchent, bon j'ai quand meme laché un petit pieds histoire de dire, mais ensuite j'ai fait les 2 tours suivant a zero... Apres la compet' je me suis confronté a la jeunesse histoire de voir ce que l'hiver leur avait apporté : Et ba du gros niveau ! La saison va etre top.

South West week end / Week end dans le sud ouest

This week end was quite full, and definitly cool ! / Week end chargé mais surtout bien bien cool !
So I left Istres Friday morning / Alors j'ai commencé par quitter Istres vendredi matin

Straight to Toulouse and the famous indoor done for the 23rd time ! This year it was Western style, cow boys, indians and crazy moto trial moves all the evening. I made a good show at the midtime of the trial with Marc Caisso on 4 sections, and none of us put any feet ! More pics will come from Sergio but here are some pics done with my phone, just to show you the area... /
Direction Toulouse et son fameux indoor moto (le 23eme !) Cette année c'etait western style : Cow boys, indiens et pur niveau en moto toute la soiree. Tony Bou m'a encore fait halluciné...

Le dimanche compet' a Soual, verglas et glagla le matin, boue l'aprem et entrainement ensuite donc dur mentalement, puis dur techniquement et pour terminer du riding sans se prendre la tete, le top !

Je suis installé a Istres depuis maintenant deux semaines, et apres pas mal de galere avec notre maison tout est rentré dans l'ordre. Je peux donc me consacrer totalement au trial. Mais le fait de se focaliser sur ma progression passe par la decouverte de nombreuses autres activités, alors Franck m'a mitoné un programme chargé mais surtout varié, en plus du trial boxe, escalade, seance physique... (http://k-124performance.blogspot.com/2009/12/go-climb-rock.html)auxquels j'ai ajouté des activités moins rudes : balade en Camargue, pieces de theatre. En gros le programme est chargé, le cadre de vie genial et le soleil brille !

I am now living in Istres for two weeks, and after some problems with our house every thing is right now. I can give all my energy to trials. But the fact to be 100% focused on my progression pass by dicovering several activities, so Franck created me a massive program but really various, trial, boxing, climbing, physical session... Pour les jours suivants notre equipe de choc s'est donc divisée en deux : je suis allé roulé avec Franck pendant que Madame et son acolyte se sont rendues dans toutes les agences du coin pour nous trouver une maison, laborieux... Le soir était consacré au activités intellectuelles dans notre 4 etoiles.

Le short avec lequel j'ai roulé toute la saison est enfin dispo au public, 2 versions : koxx, avec les logos classiques et Try All, avec un nouveau logo specialement créé pour l'occasion. C'est ce dernier modèle avec lequel je roulerai toute la saison a venir.

En plus d'etre super confortable et léger il permet de rentrer facile dans les soirées deguisées !!!

The short I used during the season is now available to the public, 2 versions : the koxx one, with the classic logos ant the Try all one, with a all new logo created for the occasion. This last one is the one I will use for the coming season.

It is really confortable and light,furthermore it permits you to get into the halloween parties !!!

Competition in Clisson

Hier on était à Clisson (pres de Nantes) pour la finale de la CIRO. Moitié artif, moitié naturel. Super compet', des zones vraiment chaudes (j'ai fait plus de 20 points), plein de spectateurs et la première sortie du Black Sky de serie. Un pur week end ! Bravo aux organisateurs qui se sont dechirés (Nico Vuillermot aussi, mais lui c'était le poignet... Bon rétablissement dude!)
J'ai pu l'emporter devant Kevin Aglae et Elie Boucher.

Yesterday we was in Clisson (near Nantes in the west of France) for a CIRO cup. Half natural, half artificial. really nice competition with really hard sections (I made more than 20 points...), lot of crowd and the first comp with the serie Black Sky. A pur week-end ! Big up to the organisators who made a great job.
Finaly I could win behind Kevin Aglae and Elie Boucher.

Le black sky vient d'arriver chez K124. J'ai pu monter le mien ce matin. Pas de grosse surprise, le velo est identique a celui que je teste depuis maintenant plusieurs mois, la deco en plus ! Cet aprem premiere seance a son guidon, j'espere ne pas declencher d'emeute dans les bois...

The black sky just arrived at K124. I bring it this morning. No big surprise, the bike is the same than the one I test for few monthes now, but with the full design now ! This afternoon I will ride it for the first run, I hope I won't create a desaster in the hood caused by its beauty...

Avec les 2 stiky light* je suis a 8,1 pour le velo d'entrainement sans les axes de pedales titane, les vis titane, les pieces preparées...

With both stiky light* I am at 8,1 for the training bike without any titanium axle or bolt, nothinh prepared...

* Je teste egalement depuis quelques jours le futur Stiky light avant. La carcasse est top, moins de 500g et surement la posibilité de mettre des chambres a air light. C'est trop tot pour en etre sur mais les reactions sont tellement bonnes que ça le fera surement, et du coup on aura l'ensemble pneu-chambre a air le plus light et de loin le plus performant. Pour ce qui est du grip, il est aussi bon que les bons vieux stiky, ceux qui ont pu rouler avec savent de quoi je parle....

* I also test for fews days the futur stiky light for the front. The structure is awesome, less than 500g et surely the option to put a light tube. It is to soon to be sure about that but the reactions are so good that I am pretty sure that it will work. It will make the combo tire-tube the lightest and definitly the best. About grip, it is as good as the old stiky, the one who tested it know what I mean...

Dimanche se déroulait une manche du trophée inter-regional CIRO en Vendée (Le Tablier). Compet' super sympa dans un cadre vraiment magique, une jolie riviere, des ruines et surtout des zones "à l'ancienne" tout en naturel. Je me suis régalé, vraiment bon esprit. Un public pas forcement connaisseur, c'est cool de faire decouvrir le trial ! Au final je l'emporte devant Elie Boucher et Tom Fransisco en concédant un petit point de temps seulement au 3eme tour. Nouvelle escapade dans le grand ouest dans 15 jours pour la finale du trophée a Clisson.

Sunday were organised a round of the inter regional trophee CIRO in Vendée (in the west of France). Really nice competition in a beautiful venue, cute river, ruines and also some cool old school sections all in natural. I took a lot of pleasure, really cool mood. The public didn't know much about trials, it's cool to make the trials more known. Finaly I won behind Elie Boucher and Tom Fransisco with one point (for time) only in the 3rd round. Next rendez-vous in the west in two weeks for the final of the trophee in Clisson.

Ces deux dernières semaines l'actu vélo a été plus que calme, a vrai dire je n'ai pas touché à la bicyclette. Par contre, une semaine a peine apres le championnat du monde, week end de folie aupres des sphynx (marque deposée) pour un entermance de vie de garçon. Seule une photo sur ce blog, je reste dois rester dans la sphère privée !

Those last two weeks no bike news, actualy I didn't touch it at all. But only one week after the worlds, crazy week end with the sphynx (trade mark) for un entermance de vie de garçon (un-translatible...). Only one week pic on this blog, the rest must stay secret...

Et une semaine plus tard, là on a arreté la blague, Milca ma petite copine est devenue Milca Hermance. Un super mega top moment avec nos familles et nos amis. Alors un peu de mégalo, je vais me la jouer Rock Star en fin de concert : Je tiens à remercier : Boss, Celeste, Peri & James, Estelle & Marie, Gus-gus, les sphynx, Kiki, Vivian, monsieur et madame Del Zotto, Leo leo leo Leaux et tout specialement Christian Van Hanja pour les tofs... Et dernier big up a nos temoins : Cassoo, Manouche & Brad.

One week later, no more joke, my girl friend Milca became Milca Hermance. Pur moment with friends and family. So let's do it like a rock star : I would like to thank : Boss, Celeste, Peri & James, Estelle & Marie, Gus-gus, The sphynx, Kiki, Vivian, Mister & Misses Del Zotto, Leo leo leo Leaux and especialy Christian Van Hanja for the pics... last big up to our best men : Cassoo, Manouche & Brad.

Me voici de retour d'Australie avec la médaille de bronze lors des championnats du Monde. Autant etre honnete, c'est une deception pour moi. Ce voyage a cependant été une super expérience. J'ai beaucoup appris je crois et reviens super motivé pour tenter de relever la barre l'an prochain.
Niveau trial, c'était assez bon et j'ai plutot bien réussi a exploiter les nouvelles ressources dont je dispose. En fait, j'ai laissé passé ma chance en prenant un echec honteux dans la zone la plus facile. A la fin du premier tour je comptais une longueure de retard sur Kenny et Gilles alors que j'aurais du disposer d'une avance facile a gérer. De nouvelles erreurs dans le 2eme tour me font terminer la compétition à 4 points de Gilles et de Kenny, ces deux derniers terminant a égalité. Au finale c'est le français qui l'emporte de nouveau pour un "zero" de plus (je ne souhaite pas intervenir quant à la polémique entre Kenny et Gilles, je n'ai rien vu de l'éventuel echec non sanctionné de Gilles)

Je peux nourrir certains regrets mais ce n'est pas ce que je veux retenir. Je prefaire voir le travail accompli depuis moins trois mois avec Franck Martini, qui m'a permis de revenir au top et de faire au moins jeu égal sur de nombreux aspects face à mes rivaux. Avec un an jusqu'au prochain championnat du Monde et plus de six mois avant les procahines échéances les autres n'ont qu'à bien se tenir. Que le tres talentueux double champion du monde ne s'endorme pas sur ces lauriers ! J'espere bien lui mener la vie dure dès que nous nous retrouverons.

To be honnest this is a deception for me. This trip has been anyway a good experience and I come back home super motivated to try to get back on top next year.
Trials speaking, it was quite good and I used well the new skills I have. Actually, I loose by a so stupid "5" in the easiest section. At the end of the first lap I had one more point than Kenny and Gilles whereas I should have a confortable avandtage on them. New mistakes in the second lap made me end the competiton with 4 more points than Kenny and Gilles, those 2 finishing with an equality. This is the french who won for one more zero. (I have nothing to say on the polemic between them about the possible non punished "5" Gilles may made, I didn't see nothing about that)

I can keep on mind regrets but this is not what I want to focus on. I prefer remember the really good job made with Franck Martini in less than 3 monthes, which permits me to get back on top on many aspects face to my opponants. With one year before the next worlds and more than 6 monthes before the next big rendez-vous the other should start to worry ! I advice the so talentfull double world champ to keep focused on the business, I will do my very best to make him a hard life.

Hier et aujourd'hui j'ai roulé avec Franck à La Rochelle. Dernier rush avant le grand depart pour l'Australie. On a revu les bases et les techniques mises en place, notamment le job sur l'avant. Demain démo a Cahors au trial moto urbain et mardi let's fly !!!

Yesterday and today I rode with Franck in La Rochelle. Last training before the great departure to Australia. We checked up the bases and the technicals that we worked, and especially the job on the front wheel. Tomorrow demos in Cahors for the urban moto trial and tuesday we are gonna fly !

Trial Master - Peisey Vallandry

Dimanche 9, nous (Kevin Aglae, Nico Vuillermot, Guigui Dunant & Marc Caisso) avons roulé a Peisey pour le desormais classique TrialMaster. Zones bien sympas, 3 artifs et une naturel dans un bon vieux ruisseau. Je me suis fait super plaisir, plutot bien roulé et ai remporté cette epreuve, en grande partie grace a mon suiveur de choc : Elioth... euh non Maldo. Et la photo de sa voiture style Black Sky ! Merci dude.

Sunday 9th, we (Kevin Aglae, Nico Vuillermot, Guigui Dunant & Marc Caisso) ride in Peisey for the now classical TrialMaster. Nice sections, 3 artificials and a natural one, old school wet section ! World Cup Round 4

Ce week end nous étions a knokke pour la 4eme manche de la coupe du Monde.

Sur le principe bon week-end en perspective avec mon anniversaire le samedi et celui de Milca le lendemain. Sur le principe seulement... A mon tour je n'ai été "qu'un homme" en ratant completement mon début de finale, pas de bonnes sensations, mauvaises état d'esprit... A partir du moment où je me suis senti cuit pour la victoire, là je me suis relaché et j'ai retrouvé mon niveau, mais bien trop tard ! Kenny l'emporte sur Gilles Coustellier au terme d'une belle course, bravo à lui !

Me voici mort pour le général, du coup je ne ferai pas le deplacement jusqu'en Nouvelle Zeland. Je me concentre donc sur le championnat du Monde en Australie le 6 septembre, en esperant que mon dernier stage de preparation avec Franck la semaine prochaine me permettra de combler mes manques. Ca doit etre faisable, c'est faisable !

This last week end we was in Knokke for the 4th round of the world cup.

It sounded like a good week end, my birthday the saturday and Milca's the sunday. But it sounded only... It was my turn to be "just a man" missing completly my final, bad feelings, bad mind... Then I was out of the battle for the victory and everything go better, I felt better on the bike and finaly rided as I am able to, but much to late ! Kenny won riding very well, congratulations to him, Gilles Coustellier 2nd.

So I am dead for the general result of the world cup so I won't go untill New Zeland for the final round. I am focused on the wolds the 6th of september, I hope that my last training camp with Franck will permit me to get better on my lacks. It should be possible, it is possible !

Coupe de France / France cup

Il n'est donc qu'un homme...

Ce week end super compet' a Samoens, grand soleil, public au top, zones type demi finale de coupe du monde, les 5 premiers du championnat d'Europe et surtout ma première victoire significative de la saison. J'arrivais là bas sur les rotules suite aux 5 jours passés avec Franck, mais regonflé a bloc. On a fait du bon boulot mentalement, je sais ce que je veux et comment l'obtenir.

Belle lutte avec Kenny pour la victoire et Marc Caisso en ambuscade pour nous maintenir sous pression, alors que Coustellier craquait pour la première fois depuis plus d'un an. Je l'ai donc battu pour la première fois depuis la finale de la coupe du monde l'an dernier. C'est donc possible ! Ne reste plus qu'à réitérer ce week end en coupe du monde. J'espere assimiler ce qu'on a mis en place avec Franck, si c'est le cas je devrais pouvoir passer un cap en compet', et si c'est encore trop tot ce sera pour le mondial.

Le lendemain on a roulé sur les zones de la compet avec Val, NicoS, Guigui, Elie (+ Etienne et Blandine en photographe et Elioth en mascotte), vraiment cool, et des sensations vraiment au rendez vous, a refaire ! Merci aux riders locaux et a l'organisation.

So he is just a man...

Really cool comp in Samoens, sunny day, huge public, world cup semi final sections, Europe top 5 and my first concrete victory of the season. I wnet there really tired after 5 days with Franck, but motivated. We made good job, I know what I want Iand how to get it.

Nice fight with Kenny for the victory and Marc Caisso just behind us to keep us under pressure, at that time Coustellier failed for the first time since more than one year. I beat him for the first time since the final round of the previous world cup. So it is possible. Let's do it again next week end in world cup. Hopefully I will have assimilate what we put in order with Franck, if it is done I should pass a cap, and if it is too early it will be for the world.

The day after we rode the comp sections between friends, really cool session et great feelings, let's do it again ! Thanks to the local riders et to the organisation.

3eme stage avec Franck / 3rd camp with Franck

Nouveau sejour chez Franck. Cette fois ci le but est different. Jusqu'ici nous avons pris le temps de nous connaitre, d'étudier mes manques et mes qualités... Ok c'est fait.

Là on va bosser, devenir plus durs quant aux exigences techniques et psychologiques.

Pas de physique, ça ça roule. Mais du vélo, et encore du vélo.

New camp at Franck's. Different target. Untill now we have taken the tim to know each other, to see my lacks and my qualities... Ok it's done.

Now we will work, get harder with technical and mental requirement.

No physical training, this is fine. But riding, and riding again.

Championnat de France / France championship

En moins d'une semaine nous avons enchainé le championnat d'Europe (le 12.07) et le championnat de France (les 17 & 18.07). Et lors de cette 2eme epreuve j'ai de nouveau regardé Gilles Coustellier sur la plus haute marche du podium depus la seconde...

Le bilan est je crois a peu pres le meme qu'à l'Europe. Si on suit le deroulement de la course il y avait surement la place de l'emporter, Coustellier prend un cinq apres un premier tour parfait, avec mes 4 points de pénalité a ce moment là on peut penser que... Voila je crois le mauvais constat. Pour moi il faut plutot y voir un niveau technique et une approche de l'épreuve encore trop tendre bien que de plus en plus intéréssante. Alors ne nous étalons sur le sujet. Il a gagné car il est plus fort... pour le moment et pour le moment uniquement.

Départ pour Franck Martini Land demain, apres un entrainement sur les zones de la compet', histoire de me venger.

In less than one week we have riden the european championship (07.12) and the France's one (07.17 & 18). And one more time I have look Gilles Coustellier in the first step of the podium from the second one...

Same kind of result than the euro champ I guess. If we follow the race progress it was surly possible to win, Coustellier took a 5 after a perfect first lap, with 4 points at this time we could think that... Here is the wrong analyse. Beter see a too low technical and psychological level, even if things get better and bettet. So no more details. He won because he is better... now, and now only...

Tomorrow let's go to Franck Martini Land , after a training on the comp's sections, to get my revange.

Euro championship

Je viens de rentrer des Championnats d'Europe et malheureusement pas de bonne nouvelle à vous annoncer, ou du moins pas de très bonne nouvelle...
J'ai terminé second derrière le tenant du titre Gilles Coustellier (Koxx). Je suis assez mécontent de ma performance, je n'ai pas été capable de donner le meilleur de moi même et j'ai accumulé les erreurs. J'ai tout de même terminé le premier tour en tête mais de nombreuses erreurs dans le 2eme ont achevées mes chances de victoire.
Mais avec un peu de recul on voit que les choses se passent bien. Ma préparation avec Franck Martini avance plutot plus rapidement que ce que nous avions supposé et apres seulement deux stages intensifs je suis revenu sur les talons de Gilles et ai battu à chaque fois en qualification comme en finale mes autres adversaires.
Ce week end je roulerai aux championnats de France en recherchant simplement de bonnes sensations et mon meilleur niveau. D'ici là repos complet avant de repartir chez Franck pour un stage intensif qui devrait me permettre de franchir un nouveau cap.

I am just back from the Euro championship in Holland and there is no great news to announce, or at least no super great news...
I finished 2nd behind Gilles Coustellier (Koxx). I am quite disappointed about what I did, unable to give the best of myself and doing many mistakes. Regardless I finished the first round in first position, but new mistakes in the second lap finally end my chances to win.
Generally things go well, my preparation with Franck Martini pushed me up and we are rather in advance on our objectives after only two intense training camps. I am not that far from Gilles any more and I beat every times in qualification and in final my other opponents.
This week end I will ride the national championship, I will do my best to have good feelings and ride well. But before that full rest before going back again to Franck's for a new intense camp which would permit me to pass a new gap.

Let's hold on !

This last week end was also my dad and his best friend Philippe's birthday. For this occasion I weared at the world cup the british gp style jersey to be with them even far from the party.

I didn't made me a winner but it permited me to spend a pure week end even missing the fiesta !

And public excuses to my brother : Sorry for saying happing birthday 1 day too late !

Ce week end il y avait aussi l'anniversaire de mon paternel et de son meilleur pote Philippe. Pour marquer le coup j'ai porté leur t-shirt british gp style pour etre avec eux meme loin de la fete.

Ca ne m'a pas fait gagner mais ça m'a permis de passer un pur week end meme moin de la soirée.

World cup in France / Coupe du monde française

This last week end we was in Saint François Longchamp for the 3rd round of the world cup.

First of all it has been an awesome week end for me. It started perfectly with an nice victory in qualification. In finale it has been quite good too. It made a perfect first lap with 0 point. I made a little mistake in the first section of the 2nd lap but steel perfectly focused then whithout mistake untill the last section. There I just had to finished it to get the victory but I lost the front wheel in a metal wet roof and crashed.

I have been very close to win that competition but the important is more in the way I rode there. I was quite, clean and take a lot a pleasure again. The job made with Franck starts to pay, fasterly than our hopes ! Let's keep on working hard without counting the hours spent.

Le week end dernier nous étions à Saint François Longchamp pour la 3eme manche de la coupe du monde. Tout d'abord ça a été un super week end pour moi. Tout a parfaitement débuté avec une belle victoire en qualification. La finale a super bien commencé egalement avec un premier tour à 0 point. J'ai laché un petit point dans la 1ere zone du 2eme tour mais je me suis remis à enchainer les 0 jusqu'à la dernière zone. Pour gagner je devais simplement la terminer. Malheureusement j'ai perdu l'avant sur un toit en métal détrempé par la pluie et je me suis cassé la binette (c'est le commentaire d'un mini adulte qui se trouvait là).

J'ai été tres proche du but mais je retiens surtout la maniere dont j'ai roulé : calme, propre et beaucoup de plaisir encore une fois. Le gros boulot fait avec Franck commence à payer, et plus tot qu'on ne l'imaginait. Maintenant il faut continuer a bosser sans compter les heures !

Ce week end championnat d'Europe. Envoyez moi de bonnes vibrations ! (ça ne mange pas de pain de tenter)

French cup round 1. What happened there / Coupe de France 1. Le deroulement de la compet'

Yesterday took place the first round of the french cup in Serre Chevalier. I finished 2nd behind Gilles Coustellier (koxx rider too). Off course, I can't be fully satisfied of a second place but there was some really positive signs during this "reality training", before the 3rd round of the world cup in France in 2 weeks. After 10 days really hard for me training with my coach Franck Martini I had anyway good feelings on the bike. Changes engaged to reach a cap for the coming worlds made me too unregular but the first positive effects was there ! I had a lot of pleasure riding the new sky prototype, now fully effective. Now I definitly have to put in order those good vibes to be more efficient,but things are in progress.

Next rendez-vous in two weeks in Saint François Longchamp for the world cup.

Hier se déroulait la première de la Coupe de France à Serre Chevalier. J’ai terminé à la deuxième place derrière Gilles Coustellier. Bien sûr, on ne peut être pleinement satisfait d’une 2ème place mais les motifs de satisfaction sont là pour cet "entraînement grandeur nature" avant la 3ème manche de Coupe du Monde qui se déroule en France dans quinze jours. En effet après 10 jours de travail super intensifs avec mon coach Franck Martini j’ai tout de même eu de super sensations sur le vélo. Les changements amorcés en vue de franchir un cap d’ici les Championnats du Monde m’ont rendu bien trop irrégulier mais les premiers signes d’avancée sont là ! J’ai pris beaucoup de plaisir au guidon du nouveau prototype Sky, désormais au point. Il reste évidemment à concrétiser ces bonnes sensations par une meilleure efficacité en compétition, mais les choses avancent bien. Rendez vous donc dans 15 jours à Saint François Longchamp pour la Coupe du Monde !

Serre Chevalier

Tomorrow I ll leave again my home sweet home of Coulommiers to go to the first round of the french cup in Serre Chevalier (the place where took place the national championship last year). This is a beautiful venue around a lac. The sections would be quite nice, and it will be a super opportunity to ride without pressure but faced to top riders (both Coustellier, Caisso and probably Kenny Belaey, ect). Hopefully those last two days of complete rest would be enough to get back good feelings on the bike after the hard camp from last week with Franck . Anyway it will be cool to ride a comp just for fun, with pleasure as main target.
There I will try for the first time my 09 race bike (built up today). It makes 7,9 kg, with a rear sticky tire and a front prototype. See the new black colour of the fork.
Demain je quitte de nouveau ma tendre demeure de Coulommiers pour me rendre a l'ouverture de la coupe de France à Serre Chevalier (là où se sont déroulés les derniers championnats de France). C'est un super beau coin autour d'un lac. Les zones devraient etre sympas, et puis c'est l'occas' de rouler sans pression mais face aux tops (Les 2 Coustellier, Caisso et surement Kenny Belaey, ect). J'espère que ces deux derniers jours de repos complet auront suffi à récupérer de ma semaine d'entrainement avec Franck. Quoi qu'il en soit ça sera cool de faire une compet' sans enjeux, et le plaisir de rouler en perspective.
Ce sera l'occas aussi de tester pour la première fois mon velo de compet' pour 09 (monté aujourd'hui meme). Il fait 7,9 kg avec un pneu arriere Sticky et un proto à l'avant. Au passage voici la fourche dans sa nouvelle livrée noire.

Those last 5 days I was in Istres (near Marseille) for an intense camp with my new coach Franck Martini. Easy to understand note from Franck :

"We will spend time in the nature to get good vibes, we will train like 4 or 5 hours a day, we will focus only on the things you are not good on, you will have to surpass yourself !"

I add some more items : sleep into your van in a quite place, keep time to think about your deep motivations, listen to reggae, enjoy riding.

We have analyse my riding and found keys to evolve (I have to change completly some of my moves but I know how now !), made good physical exercices, worked on balance with and without the bike, taken time to speak with each other, to boxe (!!!) and to cheal in Marseille's coast.

I feel that we have made a very goog job, the step to climb to be world champion still high, but I have realised that I don't have to feel the pressure, I know what I must (and will) do, and it will pay, this year or later, here is not the big deal.

My way to see my riding life style is much clearer, let's enjoy and stop pressure yourself !

Ces 5 derniers jours j'étais à Istres (pres de Marseille) pour un camps d'entrainement à la dure avec Franck Martini ! Consignes limpides de Franck :
"On va passer du temps dans la nature pour se régénérer, on va s'entrainer 4 à 5 heures par jour, on va se centrer sur tes points faibles, tu vas devoir te surpasser !"
A ça j'ai ajouté : Dors dans le Trafic dans un trou perdu, prends le temps de penser à tes motivations profondes, ecoute du reggae, prends plaisir à rouler.

On a bien étudié mon trial et trouvé des supers clés pour passer un cap (Il faut que je revois completement certaines techniques mais maintenant je sais comment !), fait du physique, bossé l'équilibre avec et sans le bike, pris le temps de mieux se connaitre, boxé (!) et on s'est baladé sur la cote marseillaise.

Je pense qu'on a fait du super boulot, la marche a franchir pour redevenir champion du monde reste haute bien sur, mais je me rends compte que la pression ne sert à rien, je sais ce que je dois (et vais) faire, et ça paiera, cette année ou plus tard, ce n'est pas ça le plus important.
Ma façon de voir le vélo en tant que "mode de vie" est plus claire, je dois profiter et arreter de me mettre la pression !

Franck Martini

I am really proud to annonce you that Franck Martini (sportserveur) will be my new coach. He will do his best to increase my performances on riding, physical preparation, minding, dietetic and he will also become my manager.
It won't be easy to get back the titles, and especialy the world championship but we will do our best and won't focus only into the 09 season. We are plenty of projects and hope that it will serve trials, koxx and all our supporters.
Finaly I want to thank Michael Bouget for the really great job done to me about my physical preparation since the last world championship untill today. Big up !

Je suis super fier de vous annoncer que Franck Martini va devenir mon nouveau coach. Il va faire le max pour tirer mes perfs vers le haut en trial, physiquement, mentalement et au niveau diététique; et aussi me manager.
Ca ne sera pas facile de récupérer les titres, et en particulier le championnat du Monde mais on fera le max, et puis nous ne nous focalisons pas uniquement sur la saison 09. On a plein d'idées, en espérant qu'elles poussent le trial, Koxx et tous ceux qui croit en nous !
Pour conclure je voudrais remercier Michael Bouget pour le super boulot qu'il a fait pour ma prepa physique depuis le dernier mondial et jusqu'à aujourd'hui. Big up !

The April, 8th and 9th took place the Trialix, a meeting of riders where I went thanks to the k124 house of Clermont. The friday afternoon we rode in an artificial place, then we went to the k124 house for an evening riding and a bbq. The saturday we rode in a beautiful natural place near the Puy de Dome. Thanks to the local scene!

Last week end I was in La Tour de Scay (near Besançon in France) for a round of the Swiss cup. Many good riders was there : R Keller, S Moor, his sister Karin (big big up for riding the elite sections !), L Braun, M Mrohs, S Hoffmann, Morgan Remy... As usualy Alain Remy (the person who made the sections at all k124 days) made a perfect job with 2 different competitions. The saturday pure old school natural sections, it was really cool to ride (back) this kind of sections : wet rocks, no grip, no flat places, no huge move but necessity to be at the perfect place before any move... I ride so so, my feelings was good but I made many mistakes.

The sunday it changes completly with a world-cup-final-style sections, big rocks, big move, long sections ! I feel better again on the bike than the day before but I made more mistakes too, I have almost been bitten by Momo Remy, who really impressed me !

It has been an awesome week end and finished so f....... tired !

World cup round 2

This last sunday took place the second round of the world cup in Heubach, Germany.

I finished 3rd again. This is an other deception because like last time all start very well during the quaification. I think that I have to be able to keep my regular level during the final, what I didn't do those last 2 times because of the stress probably. After a very very bad first lap (I was 5th) the things start to become a bit better, I think that I found the state of mind I need for the coming competition, more focused on what I have to do on the bike, without giving too much place to my opponents' results, the count of the points and stuff.

I can't wait for the next round to come, I hope that I will be much better and I guess that I am starting to feel good things.

This time Kenny won so with 2 differents winner all is possible for me for the general result of the world cup.

clothes test

Yesterday I tested few accesories which will permit to develop the next clothes range.You can see a new "fighting short", the "martial arts shoes" and the "slim helmet". At the moment almost nothing is ready to be produced... but after few changes it will be awesome. Off course the quality is bad to hide them a little bit (or maybe because it is a new guetho video filmed by mobile...)

World cup round 1

This last saturday we rode the first round of the world cup in Ripoll, Catalunia. It started well for me by winning the qualification but everything goes bad during the final. I took 2 five in the first lap that I can hardly explain, then my chance of winning were dead. I finaly finished 3rd behind Gilles Ciust and Kenny Belaey. I am quite disappointed cause my level was really good and I have lost many points for the global result of the cup. Let's say that it wasn't just my day.
Now let's train harder again to win in one month in Germany.

For the k124 days Wouise made me a new helmet. On the front he strated from the black sky design (and right arm tatoo), on the top he used the skull from the k124 poster. On the right he used the bamboo bike logo (and my stomach tatoo) and on the left the "H" from my wrist tatoo.

It started the friday evening at the K124 house Paris for the Red Bull party there.

See that gap (over 4m50), Jerome was there to represent the Clermont Crew. He did so! Respect !

Then saturday and yesterday the event took place in Buthiers. Here are some pics of the race.

The global atmosphere was really cool, and the trial was just amazing. For the first time a super elite category was created by Alain Remy... and for the first time we have had a huge category, over 40 points on both days for all of us, half of the riders with all 5, but the most massive competition ever, huge side up like 160cm, many rocks where you can't see the top because they are higher than you...

Gilles won, I finished 2nd, Benito 3rd, Kenny 4th and Giaco didn't finished the first day.

I had a great level but I wasn't regular enough, my top performances are really good but I need to be more efficient.

The season will be awesome, at the moment I guess that Gilles and I on our sky bikes are a bit over the others, let's keep it this way if possible !!!

The show in bmx flat was so cool too, big up to the a bad thing crew.

Red Bull bring us a cool support, with in particular that beautifull Renault 4X4 DJ car.

Great thanks to the k124 crew !
